Can You Oozes at this Level of Creativity?
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 @ 8:18 pm by Josh Burcham
Seriously. Could you operate at that level of creativity to produce a video like this? I was thinking through the process of coming to that outcome and I don’t think it would of ever accrued to me. Creativity moves people. And creativity could influence heart change. Churches, are you seeking after creativity at it’s high levels or are you okay with status quo. We serve the most creative being, the creator of this universe. We should act like we do.

Stealing Content

Found a couple of must read posts this week and had to pass them onto you. These two posts were too good to not link to. Mark Batterson form National Community and Andy Stanley of North Point Church are two leaders in the church today and I would recommend reading any of their books. Mark was talking about hearing the Holy Spirit speak when he wrote this: (more…)

Microsoft Retail: FAILED
Thursday, May 14, 2009 @ 5:23 pm by Josh Burcham

Here is some dumb humor for your for your day. If you haven’t heard Microsoft is opening it’s own retail store to try and take on Apple Retail. Note to Mircosoft: being innovative doesn’t mean copying another companies product and approach.
Here is are 10 Ways Microsoft Stores will Differe from the Apple Store:
- Instead of Apple’s sheer walls of glass, Microsoft’s stores will have brushed steel walls dotted with holes — reminiscent of Windows security.
- The store will have six different entrances: Starter, Basic, Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate. While all six doors will lead into the same store, the Ultimate door requires a fee of $100 for no apparent reason.
- Instead of a “Genius Bar” (as Apple provides) Microsoft will offer an Excuse Bar. It will be staffed by Microsofties trained in the art of evading questions, directing you to complicated and obscure fixes, and explaining it’s a problem with the hardware — not a software bug.
- The Windows Genuine Advantage team will run storefront security, assuming everybody is a thief until they can prove otherwise.
- Store hours are undetermined. At any given time the store mysteriously shuts down instantaneously for no apparent reason. (No word yet on what happens to customers inside).
- Stores will be named Microsoft Live Retail Store with PC Services for Digital Lifestyle Enthusiasts.
- Fashioned after Microsoft’s User Account Control (UAC) in Vista, sales personnel will ask you whether you’re positive you want to purchase something at least twice.
- Xbox 360 section of the store will be organized in a ring — which will inexplicably go red occasionally.
- DreamWorks will design a scary in-store theme park ride called “blue screen of death.”
- Store emergency exits will be unlocked at all times so people can get in anytime they want even if the front doors are locked.
Enjoy.

Roy in Colorado
Monday, May 11, 2009 @ 12:15 pm by Josh Burcham
You might not be as interested in this as much as I am, but Patrick Roy (all-time best goalie to ever play in the NHL). Up till recently Roy held the most wins from an NHL goalie and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006. Could be taking Tony Granato’s head coach spot behind the Avs’ bench. Roy met with Avalanche President last Thursday-Friday, May 7th and 8th.
Since retiring from the NHL, Roy went to become the Owner, GM and Coach of the Quebec Remparts. Winning the Memorial Cup (equivalent to the NHL’s Standley Cup for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) his first season.
Nathan actually had a chance to meet Roy a couple years back when his team went up to Quebec representing the Colorado Avalanche’s youth hockey and didn’t even know who he was meeting. I was disappointed to say the least. Love you Nate.
This would be Sick! I would be in Colorado as much as possible, which my mom would love! Nothing new in an NHL team of bringing one of the greats back as a coach, wink wink, Gretzky. Don’t get me wrong he was an amazing player, but now he’s had a couple of years to prove himself and the team just can’t produce. The coach usually takes the blame. Roy has a impressive coaching record on his resume and was been a know leader on the teams he played for. Let’s see what he could do in the Pros.
I’m curious to see him give it a shot. Seriously, it can’t be much worse then dead last in the West with a 32-45-5 record!
What the Press is saying: Sports Illustrated, The Denver Post, and Colorado Avalanche Blog.
For Fun: Like father like son. Below is a picture of Roy’s son holding onto the Family reputation.
Notice he doesn’t wear his dad’s number.

Maybe not identical, but pretty stinking close. Adam Sandler is my brother’s twin. I’m convinced.

How Fast Do You Type?
Friday, April 17, 2009 @ 10:00 am by Josh Burcham
I was a little surprised that I typed so quickly. I would of thought I would of been around the 40-50 words a minute range. Not bad for not using my own keyboard. FYI really loving my Dad and Dane’s new iMac. We need more switchers in this word; stop “having to deal with Windows” and come to the dark side. Tedd, would be interested in your speed.

Are you a Genius?
Tuesday, April 7, 2009 @ 11:49 am by Josh Burcham
In class on Monday we had a little friendly competition with some word puzzles and I thought you all would get a kick out of them. Lets test your mental flexibility & creativity and see if you can be ranked as a genius.

This is how is works. Below are word puzzles built on the number they start with. Your job is to complete the puzzle. For example: 50 = S in the U answer: States in the Union. Get it? Let’s have fun. Post your answers in the comments at the bottom.
