Let Me Tell You About this Dollar

Just found this in one of my notebooks, actually I forgot I had it. The second I saw it brought back feelings of hope, hope for people. Too many people walk through this life without hope. They live day to day without a purpose or something to strive for… a life mission. And unfortunately a lot of those people go to the grave never finding what would fill that void and give them hope.

This dollar represent a change for these people. This dollar is the first dollar given to the vision of Ridgepoint Church. It was given by a 15 year old boy that knows God wants to give hope.

I’ve known Jesus a long time and honestly I forget sometimes what Jesus has actually given me that others don’t have. I’m not talking about stuff. What I’m talking about is so much more than that. I’m talking about peace when things get tough, hope when there seems to be none, strength when I don’t think I can keep going and faith that His plan I always perfect. I know that I’m loved with a love that is unfailing. People that love me will always disappoint, their human and it is just in their nature. Jesus loves me no matter what. No matter what I’ve done or am going to do, I’m loved. I’m loved because of His character, not because what I’m actions. Thank you God for loving me even when I haven’t deserved it!

That dollar represents hope for people. Because we don’t need another church. We really don’t. But we do need Christians to live as Christ has called us to live by loving God and loving people. We do need a church that’s focus is helping people meet Jesus.

Ridgepoint Church isn’t just another church, we are a movement of believers doing anything in our power to help people meet Jesus. If that moves something inside of you, God might be calling you into this movement. To make a difference and to give people hope! If that doesn’t move something inside of you stay where you are, because you’re not ready.

Sorry, not a wealth of money. Still a great source though and great tool. If you are trying to tackle reading the Bible in 365 days, here are a couple of tools that could help you out.

First: from Mars Hill Church in Washington. They have taken the time to write out an entire plan that can be printed and stuck in your Bible. http://bit.ly/9Zm6jq

Second: from the guys of at LifeChurch.tv and YouVersion.com. They provide great online and on phone reading plans, that are worth checking out. I’ve used them in the past with great success. YouVersion.com

Just sharing some wealth.

You’re Missing Something If…

You’re missing something if… you haven’t read these books. I’m not the kind of guy that just recommends books for the sake of recommending them. These are books that I have read and would encourage anyone looking to follow Christ to read. These are books that have changed my walk and my life, not just helped me walk…changed my life!

Picture 2.png

These books taught me how to love God and love people, with the understanding that I truly can’t do one without the other. If you’re a Christian, asking God to teach you how to become a Christ-follower, these are a must read.

On another note: to you bloggers out here. This post was posted with MarsEdit from the Mac. This is my first time using the software and my hope it will help with grammar and spelling. WordPress doesn’t have a great tool for this. Any thoughts on the software?

Truth from John

“I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.” John 5:19-21

In Case You Forgot

In case your forgot what changed your life, what brings you hope and what gave you purpose…

Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. 1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Jesus Didn’t Heal Crowds

As you read though the Gospels for the account of Jesus’ ministry on earth. There is on thing that you’lI noticed over and over again. Jesus performed many miracles (I can’t spell, it took me eight tries before the spell check could tell I was typing “miracles”), healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out demons.

Matthew 8:5-13, is the account of a Centurion’s faith. Jesus said to him, “I will go and heal him” when the centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant. The Centurion’s response I couldn’t figure out, well I couldn’t figure out why Jesus had the response He had to the Centurion.

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

The Centurion had faith that Jesus’ power was much bigger than he could see. He realized that Jesus could heal anyone at any time with them being present or not.

Now I tell you all that to tell you this: Jesus healed people, not crowds. Crowds of people were around him at all times, Jesus could of just as easily waved His hand over the crowd and heal all the people in one gesture. But He chose to care for the individual. Because He offered more than just healing, He offered life, He chose to impact people on an individual basis.

How does that affect you on a daily basis? We’re not here to just help people. We aren’t here to just love people. We are here to help people meet Jesus!
